Absolutely wonderful performance, but the video transmission was so dark you could not see the background of the action at all clearly --seemed as though it had been recorded at dusk (and that is not what the Met is like).

A Great Saturday Afternoon

This was a great Saturday afternoon. As the opener for The Met HD, a lovely choice. If you cannot get to NYC and pay a premium you will still see and hear a terrific opera afternoon. Usually, the broadcast has no technical problems but this did have two times that the sound and picture were interrupted. We missed only a few minutes of the performance.

OUTSTANDING PRODUCTION!! If you are an opera fan, this is a "must see". The Met's new production is simply wonderful. What else could we expect from the Metropolitan Opera?? Matthew Polenzani's tender rendition of Una furtiva lagrima will rival Pavorotti's in its sensitivity. It is a good beginning opera to see for those unfamiliar with opera and for childlren as well. It is a comic opera; lots of fun.

Fantastic opera yesterday! Singing, acting, sets, costumes, a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and a great way to start the Live in HD season. This show was outstanding.
