As usual this Met HDTV simulcast was impressive. Most of the singers were wonderful, especilly the women. The tenor was good but not quite up to teir standard but he was believable as Tito.

This was our very first opera at the movies. Both my wife and I loved it and look forward to the next one. I've been to the Met, in person, and this is, of course, not quite the same, but living in Colorado, it's an excellent substitute for the "real thing." I especially enjoyed visiting "backstage." All in all, a wonderful experience. The voices were magnificent, as was the acting. What else needs to be said? Go see it when and if you can.

I was so excited when I found out that the Met was doing Mozart's wonderful, but lesser known and underrated opera, "La Clemenza di Tito." Finally, Mozart fans get what we have been wanting for so long! I knew that before the showing, that this was going to be THE definitive recording of "Tito." It was absolutely wonderful and traditionally staged/costumed and the singers were wonderful in their parts. I really have to give the most props to Barbara Frittoli, who was THE best Vitellia ever!! Her "Non piu di fiori" was the best I have ever heard!!! It was seriously unbelievable. The only bad thing I have to say is that I didn't think that the singer who played Servillia was quite right for the part. She looked too old for Annio and although she is a good singer, I personally think Vitellia should have a sweet sounding voice. Other than that, this production is COMPLETELY amazing and I cannot wait for it to come out on DVD to watch it again!

Excellent, must see ????. To see what a Master can do with music and to see how through the different characters we can learn from them to get to know our own psique in the most masterfully way put is incredible. The inner conflicts of our soul put in theater in front of our own eyes and the way Mozart also let us know the way out magestically. But just to hear his music is worth it. A piece to help us teach our children and teenagers about negative emotions and their consequences if we let ourselves manifest them, and most importantly the safe and loving way to deal with them and find the strenght to win the inner battle, it' s always about choice!! For Opera it is always recommended if you are not familiar with it to read about the story before hand. Enjoy!!
