La Cenerentola

I enjoy Renee Fleming's interviews so much more than the gentleman who interviewed for this performance - he wasn't as well prepared or interesting. The theater that we always see the Met Movies moved to another smaller theater and that in itself was fine, but the sound quality was muffled at times, certainly not surround sound and distorted many times - I would not see it at the Westbury Stadium again. I also had to leave the theater and ask them to turn their lights off. The movie itself was decent if you can take the repetitive lines from Rossini - it is a little annoying since 3/4 are the same lines. The performers were mostly wonderful.

Joyce Di Donato and Juan Diego Florez were exceptional in this production.

This was my first opera, I adored it. It won't be my last.

A FUN OPERA

The music and singing were wonderful. The plot was funny and kept you guessing. I don't know whether kids would be entertained enough to sit through it, but I totally recommend it for adults. I think I enjoy seeing it in HD rather than at the Met. It is great to see everything going on in the background.

Without a doubt, one of the most splendid performances I have ever seen: magnificent cast, excellent production, superb conducting. Unforgettable! And what a luxury to have it available without having to go all the way to New York and at a fraction of the price.
