In my life, I have heard and seen the La Boheme music enough times to feel like we're related. I have seen Puccini's gem live on stage a couple of times, to great delight each time, at whatever age I was. The encore HD simulcast was like having the icing from several cakes. The closeup camera work and backstage shots, the review of Zefferelli's work, and the high quality of the singing/acting by the stellar cast were enchanting and enrapturing. The principal women were beautiful of face and voice in such individually different ways, and the leading men were tremendous in the way they combined vocal and acting excellence. And veteran bass, Paul Pllishka did a great job with his two minor, though integral roles (landlord and wealthy friend).

Great performance! Ramon Vargas just as good as when I saw him live in Vienna (Elixor of Love). It is difficult to see sometimes as the stage and lighting are dark, barber of seville was much brighter and easy to see.
If you can't get to the Met or are new to opera, this is a great introduction. Seeing it live in the opera hall is infiinitely better, but you get what you pay for. For opera fans like me, it is a chance to see performers that don't make it to San Diego.
A packed crowd helps when watching the performance in the movie theatre. When my son and I saw the barber of seville on a Saturday morning, the theatre was packed and people cheered. La Boheme was on Wednesday night and the theatre was only 1/3rd full. No fun. I clapped anyways, always appreciate a beautiful voice when you hear one.
Looking forward to the next season, maybe I can get out of work early to see the grand opening spectacular!

The opera was very good, but the movie theater and sound were horrible.
I would never recommend to see these unforgettable performances at this specific movie theater.

Sound quality not as good as the live from the met presentation. could have been a tech problem nationally or locally. no matter what i enjoyed the presentation and look forward to next season firstname.lastname@example.org

The singin and production were outstanding, We had tears in our eyes in the closing scene.
The only reason I did not rate must was the poor sound quality. It was uneven and sounded like ther was a curtain bet tthe audience (in the movie theater) and the stage.
I don't know if this was a local or a transmission feed problem.
Curiously enough the sound of the intermission features was clear and brilliant.
Otherwise we loved this show and other met HD movies. Hope it continues and and expands. It is a amazingly super idea on part of Mr Gelb and the Met. Thanks for the NorthHills cinemas for carrying these productions
