It is a big pleasure to visit Metropolitan Opera in local cinema.
But all additional comments and illustrations must be not so long and delirious.

The best Boheme I have seen and just about the best overall experience of a Live in HD program in the 7 years I have been attending them. The "substitute" soprano was unbelievably fresh given the rigors of her historic weekend. See the encore - you will not be disappointed.

This broadcast of the The Met's Live in HD was LA BOHEME. It featured a production in use for more than 30 years. The singing was superb, especially by Vittorio Grigolo and the soprano, who was a last-minute replacement. It was historic in that it was the first time in the Met's history, that a principal singer filled in for the matinee after performing the lead in another opera the night before. She was remarkable. The Met orchestra was at the top of their game, as usual. Also fascinating was watching the behind-the-scenes interviews and the crew working their magic managing the elaborate sets. Thanks to The Met for these broadcasts.

Fantastic performance enjoyed every minute of it. Also extremely interesting was the behind the scenes action during the intervals something you would not see in the theatre performance.

This was the most moving version of this opera I have ever seen. The music had a special effect that was compounded by the chemistry of the two lead singers. I found their acting to be as superb as their singing. I have never shed as many tears at an opera as I did at this performance.
The historical naturre of the soprano's appearance was the icing on the cake.
