La Boheme

Excellent production, lots of fascinating behind-the-scenes footage. Victorio Grigio is already my favorite Rudolpho, and Kristine was clearly the heroine of the day! Your Musetta was superb---the best ever, and the trio of friends-- great voices, great actors! I will never tire of the Zeferelli production---perhaps my 10th viewing of it. I am looking forward to MUCH MUCH more Met Opera Live! HOW DO I GET ON THE EARLIEST TIER OF THE MAILING LIST FOR NEXT YEARS'S PERFORMANCES ????????????????????? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REVEAL THE SECRET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY. I was a regular MET subscriber/attendee for 20 years. Then I got older, somewhat disabled, and had less funds. So to be able to have these cinematic events has been an enormous blessing. Again, So many thanks. Carolina De Medina

I loved the Live from Lincoln Center performance of "La Boheme" yesterday (4/5). Vittorio Grigolo was wonderful in the part of Rodolpho. I have been trying to find a tenor to replace Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras. Grigolo has a lovely tenor voice and wonderful stage presence. Musetta was terrific. And what a "tour de force" for the soprano who replaced the ailing Mimi after two hours of sleep and having sung Madama Butterfly the night before. And the Zeffarelli sets are still magnificent. What a wonderful performance!

I LOVED it!!! This movie FAR exceeded my expectations. Beautiful in every way, and my husband (not an opera fan) enjoyed it because he was able to follow the story through the movie's subtitles. An extra bonus was the inside view of the Mets changing stage sets and interviews with the performers. A must see movie, in my opinion.......and not just for opera buffs.

La Boheme

The opera is not the issue here. I always attend HD performances at Regal in Brunswick ME. Both the previous Werther and Boheme had very bad sound, not loud enough. I attended the encore of Werther at the same theater and it was perfect. Yesterday at Boheme the same low sound quality and very dark images plagued the experience. The manager of the theater is aware of this, but said he always keeps the sound as loud as it is received. It was the same in both screens showing it. Very disappointing. In my opinion it is not the theater's fault, but rather some failure in the transmitting. (The Werther comment does not pertain to the missing 7 minutes of sound).

Historic Event

The performance was really good. All the singers were firing on all cylinders. But especially the Mimi. She sang Butterfly the night before, partied a bit and went to sleep at 5 AM. She then gets a call from Peter Gelb asking her if she could sing Mimi that afternoon! Never happened before in the history of the Met. If you missed this one make sure you get to the encore!
