La Boehme

Transmission was too dark and not as sharp as other theaters. I froze through the first act until I had a chance to tell the staff. Of course, the Met was wonderful otherwise.

Met performances are always top notch

Even though a last-minute substitution for Mimi had to be made, the opera was engaging and lovely. The opera standards are always enjoyable and it's great to get behind-the-scenes interviews with the main performers. I even enjoyed seeing how the sets are put in place, although it does take a bit of the mystery out of seeing it as the curtain opens.

Fantastic. Beautifully performed and the last minute substitution was more than capable. The leads lit up the stage and brought the listener to the brink. Thank you for continuing to show quality performances.

LaBoheme HD Live

I found it excellent, I cried, laughed and thrilled to the music. I look forward to more Met Live HD productions. Only one negative comment, while engrossed in Act 4, the death scene, the magic was rudely broken and disruptive with the sound and smell of fried chicken being consumed by patrons in front of us. I will watch where I sit next time. Tom C

La Boheme

This is the most beautiful written opera and Puccini's best. What made this production so special was the lead (Mimi) was performed by a soprano colutura who had performed the night before in Madame Butterfly. She was called at 7:30AM the following morning (only 2 1/2 hours sleep) and asked to substitute for the lead who had developed the flu. Never in the Met has this ever happened! You would never have known if they didn't tell us. THIS ENTIRE PRODUCTION WAS SUPURB!
