A delight for both music lovers and beautiful production values. Aside from the brilliant voices and sumptuous score, the settings and costumes were more than splendid. The entire production was a feast. Catch the encore if you missed this broadcast.

Once again the production was outstanding. The sets and the costumes were probably the most beautifully creative of any of any production this year...actually the most outstanding part of the production. The voices were less than exciting (what has happened to Giordano in the past 2 years?) and the music all over the place with no focus so it sounded more like a bunch of notes with nowhere to go.

Not Great

Beautiful sets and costumes. Mediocre music with no memorable arias. So-so singing. I can see why it's only done once each generation or two. As the New York Times put it in their review, "...you are likely to wonder why anyone felt any of it was worth the bother." I will no listen to it or watch it again.

Unusual opera but very entertaining. Great villain! Sets and costumes very attractive.
