The opera is gorgeous, must see for all opera lovers. But AMC Theater experience was far from expected. The sound was terrible first 2 acts. We can't but wonder how come it is so loud during thrillers and not even dolby surround with the Met.

Thank you so much for making it possible for the community to have an access to Live in HD from the MET. Eugene Onegin was glorious! I take my 11 years old daughter to the opera in HD, and she loves it! Can not wait until the next operas live from the MET. Thank you!

The MET in LIVE/HD is always superb. This service, world-wide, direct and live from the MET in NYCity is very unique. In watching these productions, one is able to experience opera at the MET as if (every better) than attending the production in person.

Review of Eugene Onegin

The opera is extraordinarily dramatic and powerful. The signing was the most consistently outstanding across all the voices of just about any opera I have ever seen. The HD simulcast was outstanding. What marred the evening was the half-hour of advertisements between the announced time of the encore presentation and the showing of the actual performance. And then the Met had repetitions of the advertisements and trailers between the acts. Overall the repeated hard sells were way too much!

This is a great opera and the filming of it has captured its beauty and passions quite well. The first act is a little slow, but acts 2 and 3 are glorious. Anna Netrebko is unfortunately a little too matronly in her figure to portray the young heroine, but her voice is magnificent. Sets, costumes and supporting cast are all fine.
