An excellent experience. I'm very grateful to the Met and the theater partners that make opera at the movie houses possible. This opera, with Netrebko, Kwieczen, and Bezcala was truly outstanding.

The sets are a great improvement over the previous version. Netrebko, Kwiecien, and Beczala are terrific together both vocally and dramatically. I also liked Elena Zaremba in the role of the mother and Larissa Diadkova as the nanny. Their opening duet was beautifully sung and set the proper tone for what was to come. Gergiev evoked more strength and deftness from the orchestra than a couple of years ago in the previous production. Everyone seemed in sync and the orchestra's sound was marvelous.

Written August 27, 2016 her role. I truly try to see as many of her performances as I possibly can. She is my favorite female soprano. I loved this opera so much that I will recommend the encore performance to everyone that I know. It will live in my memory for years to come. Jerri

Anna Netrebko is incomparable artistically. Sets are beautiful. Tenor and batitone just adequate, base not Met Opera quality. Cobb Theatres at Palm Beach Gardens should adjust the sound away from Rock Concert decibels.

Over ten years ago, at the Met, we heard Onegin conducted by Seiji Ozawa. Memory suggests that Gergiev did a better job with Tschaikowsky's melancholic yet romantic music. The singers were superb. The final act was in Tatiana's home rather than outdoors in a Grecian-like structure. I liked the more intimate Act III setting of Ozawa's Onegin.
