Four hours of wonderfulness

I admit that often I am hoping the opera will go a bit faster. Not this one. The story moved and the characters interacted and it was wonderful. The singing and the songs were great. When it comes out on DVD, assuming it will, I will buy this one. So if you like opera then this is good. If you love opera well this is a bit short at only four hours, but the music is great!

thought it was fair. am familiar with the opera and the music. Thought so much close up filming was distracting as i didn't care for the principal sopranos portrayal of Tatiana. But then acting is not the primary talent of opera stars. Somehow didn't get any of the feeling of being at the Met either.

The amazing cast could only yield a magnificent performance. Great voices, great acting. The sets were a bit off in terms of what is expected from the Met. I understand the limitations of a compromised budget, but I expected better. Otherwise, I truly enjoyed the performance and felt compelled to visit NYC to see it live.

Eugene Onegin was beautifully done. The voices, the sets, the drama, and the music all made this opera worth seeing over and over. Bravo to everyone who contributed to the making of this opera!
