One Fine Afternoon!

The live in HDTV broadcast of this popular, long time favorite opera was stunning! The sets, costumes, music are all breathtaking and the cast was beyond excellent. As a long time subscriber to the Met, I must say I have never enjoyed opera as much as with this new medium. It is so exciting to be up close and personal with the singers and to actually see their facial expressions as well as hear them. The camera work is outstanding; the audience gets to see every detail of the work being performed. The intermission, back stage features add immeasurably to the total enjoyment!

De Rosencavalier

This was indeed one of the single greatest opera performances in my lifetime. I have seen the greats all over the world, but for sheer singing, acting, direction and musicality; this ranks with the very best. If you love opera, you should not miss the opportunity to see everything come together with singers at or near their prime.

Met Opera Rosen Cavalier HD Broadcast

The Met continues to provide thrilling performances on HD Live. The Rosen Cavalier was exceptional in every way -- beautiful singing, acting and staging. Renww Flemming both sings and looks beautiful in her role as sthe maturing woman who reluckantly gives up her young lover. Susan Graham as Octavian absolutely owns this role. She sings each note with passion and switches gender roles with ease through the long opra. If you missed the HD boardcast, take in the encore.
