One Fine Afternoon!

The live in HDTV broadcast of this popular, long time favorite opera was stunning! The sets, costumes, music are all breathtaking and the cast was beyond excellent. As a long time subscriber to the Met, I must say I have never enjoyed opera as much as with this new medium. It is so exciting to be up close and personal with the singers and to actually see their facial expressions as well as hear them. The camera work is outstanding; the audience gets to see every detail of the work being performed. The intermission, back stage features add immeasurably to the total enjoyment!

Der Rosenkavelier

A wonderful production featuring outstanding voices, magnificent costumes, and a thoroughly delightful, intertwined Germanic comedic plot. HD at your local theater is a great way to enjoy the Metropolitan Opera experience. We went to enjoy the three sopranos but came away raving about the bass. The Icelandic, ex-biologist was hugely convincing as Baron Ochs!
