Very enjoyable Modern Opera

This opera combines wonderful music, an amusing but intellectual libretto, and Renee Flemming as the Countess. What more could one ask for?

Renee Fleming is the reigning Strauss diva. What a wonderful performance by the whole cast, and by the superb orchestra at the Metropolitan Opera.

Production, singing, etc. excellent. Renee Fleming is fabulous. This opera was better understood because of HD -- long, non-action required seeing expressions to fully appreciate. No intermission made me aware that seats could have been more comfortable! Too bad I don't like Straus better but this was excellent.

These HD operas are amazing. We saw this opera as it was being broadcast from the Met. There was even a short interview with Rene Flemming before the performance. She is an amazing singer. You can see facial expressions of all of the performers, something you miss at the actual performance. Our cineplex filled one theater and most of a second. The public is catching on.

As always, the Met operas are great. I like it better than going to the opera house because the close ups and intros are much better
