After being nudged by a friend to attend Aida, I did so. Oh my gosh! I've since thanked him profusely. This was a wonderful experience, both in the visual presentation and the musical production. Such voices are surely difficult to match. Not anticipating the subtitles provided, I was thrilled to find them as they made the actions on stage so clear and meaningful. Obviously, I'm not qualified to make comparisons as this was my first operatic experience. I do know that it won't be my last.

One of the bigger productions this season, Aida is absolutely fantastic! The voices are glorious and Aida, a virtual unknown, is divine. So glad I watched this!

This is a beautiful opera with great vocals and the most elaborate and complex staging and casting I have seen. I am no opera critic by any means, but to the average fan this was so well done. The performers' talent and superb vocals clearly made this a great production. Additionally for me, a large part of the success was attributed to how well the Met puts on the Live HD show with all the back stage scenes, the wonderful cinematography and sound production, and the fantastic hosting by Renee Fleming. This would be a moot point if I was there in personally, but to a person seeing this live from thousands of miles away, it gives you that "being there" feeling and more. A particularly fine touch was the director's attention to details where you could see the musicians eye contact shift between their music and the Maestro. To me it is all the cinematic detail that makes me want to go see the opera when I can't go to the opera. The subtitles were also a great adder for my group.

This was an amazing experience. To get to experience a MET performance without traveling to NYC is a great opportunity that shouldn't be passed up. I hope broadway takes a hint and starts showing off too. LOVED IT!

All the principals were good singers and looked their parts..Costumes were beautiful and there were even HORSES!! We actually get a better view than the folks who pay $200 there at the Met and in addition we get backstage interviews and a chance to watch the sets being put up and broken down. Anyone who hasn't seen it should be sure to catch the encore!!
