Having seen this production at last 5 times at the Met Opera House, I was able to recreate the massive sets in my mind as I listened to the glorious music and watched a fine cast. If one has not seen it in person, it cannot be fully appreciated on screen. However, the score , principal singers and Met Chorus and dancers were more than enough to satisfy even the newest of opera goers. Roberto Alagna's performance was somewhat uneven but nevertheless effective. Always a treat to see and hear a Met debut and this Aida will surely take the opera world by storm. I never get tired of seeing this quintessential production of Aida.

It was my first time to see a live from the Met Performance at a movie theater, and I am forever hooked. It was a wonderful experience to see the expressions on the faces of the performers and to view the stage from so many perspectives. At intermission we were taken back stage to see the changing of the sets and also interviews of the key singers. I have been to the Met at Lincoln Center many times, but nothing could top this experience.

I had been wanting to try movie-theater opera and decided on Aida because it has great music and is, well, just a good show generally speaking. This was an excellent performance musically, especially the orchestra, the Aida, the Amneris, and the Amonasro. I liked very much the close- up's and the management of the cameras. The backstage shots, the interviews (including the charming conductor and trumpeter as well as the animal trainer), were simply quite nice to hear and to see. I will do this again definitely. It's a nice alternative to live performance and, in some ways, excels it. Plus it reminds me of the old Met broadcasts sponsored by Texaco. Thanks for a good time.

Both women superb as well as Aida's father. Roberto Alagna was so so. Magnifient production.
