The Master

Maybe because there was a problem with the beginning of the movie. We lost a few minutes of it so when it picked up again it was hard to figure out how he got to the hospital. I know that it was supposed to be based on a real story but, I don't remember it. I feel that it was a bit confusing with the jumping back and forth. While the acting was good the story wasn't. I wouldn't tell anyone to go and see it.

Another Criticss Only Movie

Another so called intellectual movie that critics rave about and leave the general public wondering what was so great. Not a single likable character and very slow moving (my husband fell asleep.) I will say the acting was really good. There are better movies to see.

The Master

While this is not a mainstream movie for everyone, it was intriguing and fascinating. Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix are assured of best actor nominations. This was a master-class in acting, for sure. The story concept was interesting, but the characters so unusual, it was hard to tell what they would do. If you want to see the best American actors around, go see this movie. And, go to dinner with friends afterwards. It will stimulate lively discussion.

Awful

I was so bored and when it ended I had no idea what I watched as was the consensus of people around me in the theater. Phoenix trying to play a 20-something was a joke the scenes with him and the his girlfriend were creepy, like watching a child moletser in action, the obvious age difference was very disturbing. The only good part of the movie was when it finally ended. The characers were unlikeable and forgetable. Save your money.

No Blinking!

Don't worry, you won't blink if your eyes are shut and you're snoring away through this snooze-fest. Not since the equally atrocious "Atonement", or perhaps "The English Patient", has there been a crappy film to have received so much critical acclaim. None of it is deserved. "The Master" is not only not the best film of 2012, but it is one of the most overrated films of all time. Now you know.
