The movie was not great. I am a person who loves Asian movies and action packed. In the movie, there was elements that were used from the old Chinese movies, but what made it quite confusing was the title that didn't even follow with the man with the iron fists. The only thing the guy did was narrate the movie. Also, the music selection was horrible because it was like a remix of Hip-Hop, Chinese movies, and old Western. The merge of both elements made me lose interest in every aspect possible. From the preview, this movie looks to be promising, but in truth, it was a complete waste of time. At some point, I wanted to just close my eyes and fall asleep because there was too much misdirected scenes. Personally, I am very disappointed. If in comparison, I had more fun and excitement watching the Disney movie that just came out than The Man with the Iron Fists.
Anyways, watch it if you don't believe me and good luck!

If you have been a Wu Tang fan you will love it, if you watched the old martial arts movies you will get it, if you want to see Russel Crowe having a lot of fun in a role he would'nt normally do, you will enjoy it. A lot of humor, a lot of blood, hot chicks and great fight scenes. Dope.

I was amazed how well the RZA put things together. It was a great experience to see somewhat of a twist to a Hong Kong cinema film with him being the lead antagonist. The music was amazing and all the actors and actress all get their time to shine. My only thought about this movie was the the fight scenes tend to cut away during an impact of a kick or punch, so you kind don't feel the landing of the attack at times but don't let that stop you. The Man With The Iron Fists is a great movie for any Martial Arts lover and a fan of Hong Kong cinema mixed with Urban Hip Hop. Thank you RZA for adding a new genre to to Martial Art films now.

I watched the first 30 minutes then I passed out. It has crappy over dramatic since as my bf who stayed awake describes and some horrible acting. I'm not sure of the year it's based in but the music was all rap in today's era which bothered me for some reason. I like rap music, however it didn't fit. If it was supposed to be more of a comedy spoof I didn't catch on. So if you want to see it wait for it to come to dvd, then decide.

It's possible I was expecting a Kill Bill, but the truth is that I thought this movie was rather bland. I had fun watching it but there are some major flaws: characters are all under-developed, the plot seems half-baked, and the music selection wasn't appropriate. I get that movie styles are in flux and so things are always changing to match current trends, but rap music as a back-drop to a Chinese Kung-Fu fantasy is overwhelming. There is so much going on visually that you fight to focus over the rap. I never grew to like any of the large of amount of characters. Lucy Liu is great, Bautista is surprisingly in sync and Russell Crowe is great as always. Beyond the beauty of all the scenery and costumes, which are phenomenal, it's difficult to get over the lack of a tangible story. Even the love interests feel hollow and unfinished.
Don't go for a compelling, dramatic story. Go for the amazing fight scenes, fun special effects and crazy action. Just don't look under the veneer.
