The "wraparound" story detracted from the film, and the movie itself had enough cheese to supply Taco Bell for a month, but neither of these things were enough to wreck the high entertainment value of the film. Lots of action and comedy. And the climactic scene with the Lone Ranger theme was chock full of classic high-adventure antics we've come to expect from Bruckheimer.

The Lone Ranger was a great summer Movie to see. It is thoroughly entertaining and I enjoyed every minute of it. The movie did not parallel the characters in the original Lone Ranger television series but nonetheless it was action packed and very enjoyable. The acting was excellent, the directing and cinematography was excellent as well. The writing seemed to be geared for children as it was rated a PG-13 movie but while it was to violent a movie for children, it is an excellent movie for adults and be thoroughly entertained. I would definitely see this movie again.

I had high expectations when I went to see the Lone Ranger last night. But while the movie was not bad, it was not great either. The last 20 minutes are the best in the whole movie. The story seemed realy disjointed. It's told to a young boy by an elderly Tonto who is now in a carnival side-show. Some parts of the movie don't flow well and some things aren't explained well. For example, the Lone Ranger is a lawyer fresh out of law school from back East. Yet he rides Silver like a trained stuntman. At least they did get the reason of how the name Lone Ranger came about. Johnny Depp seems to be playing Tonto like Jack Sparrow. His walk is the same and his mannerisms are the same.
I'd give it an 8 out of 10, mainly because of the last 20 minutes being heep fun. Good for the whole family.

If a summer movie means action, adventure, laughs and a good use of a few hours of your time, this is your movie. Johnny Depp's lines, facial expressions, and body language stole the show. The story is a pure western through and through, with a Disney touch. Nice popcorn flick! Forget the critics, this is well worth your time and money.

Really slow. Really bad. They made the Lone Ranger a total sissy. Tonto is a mess, is he funny or serious? Is this a comedy or action? And the story is so slow and dumb. Really bad.
