It's not the GREATEST kid's movie I've ever seen, but it's definitely clever enough (and somewhat original in approach) to keep adults interested. The kids will certainly LOVE IT.

Review of The LEGO Movie
By L.N. (age 7)
The LEGO Movie *****
I went to the Lego movie once before and it was very good! It is a very good movie for kids. Kids will love it. I went with my family. By the way, have you seen the Lego movie before? Yes or no?
Why You Can Go See it?
You should go see it because after you know what it’s like, you can tell your friends if they have never seen it. So your friends can tell the other people.
What You Should Buy There
Before the movie you should buy candy, popcorn and a drink like apple juice or a Shirley Temple ? yum, yum, yummy!
Where It Is
The movie theatre is in New York City but I can’t remember what street it is on. So… I am sorry that I forgot what street it is on.
Who I Went With
I went with my family. I have an older sister and a younger sister. And of course my mom and dad.

The movie moves along pretty well with laughs, big and small conceived throughout. Interestingly though, there is a lot of violence for an animation flick about toys intended primarily for small children. I guess thats because the plot line includes the imagination of a young boy, bent on destruction and hero worship.

I didn't have high expectations for this film, but my Lego loving son (11) was dying to see it, so I bought my popcorn and soda, and settled in for what I assumed would be just another so-so kids' movie (I like kids' movies, but there are a lot of duds). I could NOT have been more wrong. This movies was hilarious. We laughed so hard throughout the entire thing. My husband didn't get to see it, so he took our son back tonight and said he thought it was hilarious too. While it might be lost on kids (consciously at least), it does have a rather good message about finding your own special talent and not being afraid of being different. As they say in the movie: Everything is awesome!

The all brick animation is awesome and inspiring. Could do without the live actors at the end. But my boys (ages 10, 8) and girl (age 6) loved it! EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!
