Not for young children

This movie was so violent and promoted the use of guns and other weapons not suitable for viewing by the small. My four year-old will require much therapy after this one. I had no idea that I should have previewed before allowing him to see it. I am so disappointed in the overuse of unnecessary violence utilized to tell this story.

Lived up to the Hype

Ever since this movie previewed, both my son (9) and I have been wanting to see it. Needless to say, it was a great flick with constant motion, constant humor, and enough of a story line to keep us engaged. I'll probably end up buying this one as well!

I really enjoyed this movie not only was it funny but I like the message that it tried to convey for kids and adults alike in the sense that it's wrong to consider someone a nobody, and there not important just because they may be different or do things differently than others. I'm glad my kids got to see that because they even said to me "Mommy that was mean what they said about Emmett". I think we all have the ability to be great at something. A must see movie!

I have a seven year old so I go to pretty much every kids movie that comes out. I expected to be mildly entertained for 90 minutes and then 90 minutes of "Dad, can we go to the Lego store?" I was shocked out how good the story was. I was doubly shocked to actually have my emotions moved. Even the presence of Will Ferrell, whose movies I despise, couldn't ruin it for me. If you have kids, go. If you don't have kids, watch it on Netflix in a few months late at night when no one else is around. Either way you'll enjoy it. BTW - We still ended up going to the Lego store, it is a very long ad after all. Be prepared.

Interesting but overhyped

Took the family for a winter afternoon activity. It was funny at parts and visually appealing but a slow 20 min backstory in the beginning and long 20 min ending led my kids make multiple statements of thier boredom. Its definitely a so-so $40 activity. The 5 year old behind us was ready to go at the 70min mark of this 100min movie. With little options on a cold winter day, this is an option. Just a little over-sold in my opinion.
