After watching the idiotic "Broken City" yesterday (in case you'er not sure, that was a clue - don't see Broken City) The Last Stand was a breath of fresh air! It depends on what type of movie you want to see. If you're looking for an Academy Award for best picture, then see Lincoln or Les Miserables. But if you want to see a good ol' fashioned action movie, put together pretty well and with comedy mixed in then The Last Stand is your movie. For being over 60 years old Arnold Schwarzenegger surprisingly does a good job. I had my doubts going into this movie, and even the first 15 minutes my first thought was "ut-oh, he's too old." But as the film progressed Schwarzenegger nails it. There are a few goofy things, like towards the end if the movie Arnold acknowledges he's an immigrant and with the heavy Austrian accent its an easy guess but in the movie his name is "Sheriff Owens?" - not very European. Also, the movie is a tad bit gory receiving an "R" but worth the 7 bucks!!!

This movie is more interesting when considered in juxtaposition to the nation going bug nut crazy about guns. Not because of the obvious violence inherent in any Schwarzenegger movie, but because of the character Lewis Dinkham (Johnny Knoxville). Dinkham is the person gun control advocates are afraid of: the small down gun nut who is hiding an arsenal. Well, it’s not really the guns he’s hiding, as it is all the ammo. Dinkham has his guns right out in the open, literally on display, in his gun “museum” (open every third Thursday of the month from noon to 3 p.m.). Dinkham’s collection saves the day. After he adds the condition the government need not know about his stash, of course.
I thought Hollywood was run by liberal Jews? If so, something’s all screwy here. Dinkham saving the day doesn’t sound like the message the left is espousing. I suppose a gun fetish is ok when one is crazy in the lovable buffoon way and not the Ted Nugent way.

good action, some light humor. only thing i didn't like was the graphic parts of the heads being shot out...but, that is Hollywood these days

Saw the movie with one of my sons and then we went to a burger joint for dinner. Meanwhile, my wife and a few of her friends went to dinner where they could all get a salad and then they went to a play. There is no doubt my son and I had a much better time.
The movie was just plain FUN - we laughed at both the great lines and the implausible action scenes. For the men out there, not sure that your wife will like it but I guarantee you will!!!

This movie was great. Full of fast car chases big explosions killer guns. And let us not forget some of Arnalds greatest one-liners. Johnny Knoxville was funny as hell. All in all if you like a good action movie go see this
