Excellent film that combines wholesome values of life centered around the importance of love, caring for other people, overcoming fear, together with a greatest message of life for us all. The acting is very good and the scenery fantastic. I had no idea Utah of all places good be that breath taking. I got to seen the film in digital format which made it even better. I do my share of hiking in the mountains of Colorado and some of the scenes in the film reminded me of the times I have gone backpacking in the mountains in Colorado. I recomend this movie to anyone. Though, I think it is a litttle difficult for the younger ones to understand what is going on.

This was a well produced movie. Not having read the book, it kept me in suspense and had a few turns of events I wasn't expecting. Overall it had good values and showed what can happen when someone positively questions a superstitious tradition.

The movie starts slow. A surprising twist makes it worth the wait. A good message.

There is a little of each of us in this movie, but what a way to freedom was shown to all through "The Last Sin Eater", Jesus.

How important is Jesus in your life? Important enough to make a movie that would rate a 9 into a 10 for its message? If so, then you'd probably be pleased with The Last Sin Eater. Tragedy, guilt, secrets, violence, lies, pagan rituals, love and the redemptive power of Jesus come crashing together in the beauty and isolation of Appalachia in the late 1800's. A guilt-ridden young girl who faults herself for her little sister's death seeks aid in the form of the cove's sin-eater, a survivor of Celtic traditions in her mountainous community. Where he trys and fails, a stranger with the word of God succeeds, although he is killed by the cove's brutish ruler with a multitude of dirty secrets to protect. Although the stranger is killed, the word of God is not and the community continues to be transformed. Your attention will be nailed to the screen with no drips, runs or sags for sure.
