I've been wanting to see this movie since it came out, but have not had the chance to until tonight. I was blown away by the superb acting. One of the main reasons I wanted to watch it in the first place is because I'm a huge fan of Colin Firth. Even though there was no action or complex plot, it was far from boring. The story itself is inspirational and amazing.

Brilliant film. Excellent direction, performances by Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush finest acting I have seen i a long while. As an historical piece Tom Hooper, the English director, is brilliant at historical films.I think this is one of the best films of the year and I highly recommend it.

Oscar for Colin

Beautifully acted, well written movie. Colin Firth should finally get the Oscar he so richly deserves for his sympathetic and compelling portrayal of the man who did not want to be King. Geoffrey Ruch is wonderful too, as is Helena Bonham Carter. Most of the stories from this era focus on the affair between Edward and Wallis Simpson, so it is great to see this other less-told story about George's life and his triumph.

Fantastic movie

Colin Firth is fantastic. Helen Bonham Carter is great as the Queen Mother in her early days. This had the perfect blend of personal interaction and politcal/history to be entertaining and ineresting.

This was a perfect movie. On my list of the very best. The music was subtle and appealing, non=-intrusive. The acting was superlative; a very, very moving film. Not to be missed! If it doesn't win many Academy awards, there's definitely something wrong with our system acknowledgment. A must!!!!!!!!!!
