Sometimes people will meet who enrich each other's lives, sometimes a movie gets made about it that will enrich yours.

This movie was great! It was heart warming, funny, and touching, I think the critics reviews are way way off, they must have watched a different movie? A human story with no special effects or booming audio, it is dubbed but you get lost in the story so you don't notice that! A must see if you like a pure movie and story!

If you want to see something beyond the cookie-cutter that is intelligent, funny, sensitive and uplifting - you cannot miss the gift from the Weinstein brothers. They just have a gift of finding gems like this. No fast action, bloodshed, transformers, or 3-D, but you will be thrilled that you saw it - it will not bore you in anyway. Go soon, before this little pipcture is gone and I think the theatre experience added to the enjoyment versus streaming it or DVD later.

The Critics are Wrong! Wonderful Movie

I read the Critics' reviews (some negative) and then I read the movie goers reviews that were very positive. We went yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed this film. Great story, terrific acting and very moving. The problem with Critics (in my humble opinion) is that they try to analyze through their politically correct lenses and miss the story. These two people from opposite backgrounds and culture form a very unusual bond and learn from each other. We left with a great feeling and spent a nice dinner discussing the humor, subtle nuances, and great screen writing. Go and enjoy yourselves. Incidentally, it is based on a true story which makes it all the better!

This story about a wealthy paralyzed Frenchman and the highly unlikely man he hirea to care for him is phenomenal...you really shouldn't miss it. The acting is fantastic, with a great cast of people you've probably never heard of. Driss, the carer, is explosive...like a puma ready to jump on life and eat it all up. He's so vital and strong, but also sensitive in such basic ways. This is not a chick flick. It's a fabulous human story anyone would like. Go see it!
