It is an attention grabber from beginning to end - even though in some ways sad - how can an invalid's life not be somewhat sad - it is full of humor and bon homme

One of the finest movies I have seen in recent time. The movie is intelligent, moving without being maudlin and often funny. The acting overall is excellent as is the cinematography. I am very pleased to have seen it.

Very funny and entertaining, the actors are top class, Omar Sy is very funny like in his French TV show and François Cluzet is an excellent actor as usual. Highly recommended. Thierry

I took my 16 year old (American Film Indocrinated teen -exposed only to multimillion dollar crap that can be marketed into video games) and he said, "Mom, I think this is one of the best films I've seen. Why don't they make more films like this?" Money, of course. Leave it to the Europeans to make adult dramas that are much desired and needed. We are left to Focus Films and Magnolia Films and gems like this one to keep us going. Must see. Magnetic and charming.

Sweet on the surface, complicated underneath

Somebody was in charge of keeping this feel-good movie from crossing over the line into so-sweet-it-makes-your-fillings-ache. It's a dark situation laced with beams of light and proving what comedians know: we want to laugh at adversity--and the more adverse, the harder we want to laugh. Here, we get to tear up, too. Although it's a movie with no villains, it gets you in a bear hug that won't let go.
