From the preview I knew that I was in for a treat and I have to say I was thoroughly impressed from beginning to end. The acting, directing, and cinematography are excellent. Not one poor performance in the entire film. Also, the film shows the beauty of France in architecture, food, the Pyrenees, and the beautiful French countryside. Definitely a film to see with a beautifully written (and often humorous) well choreographed story.

Sweet on the surface, complicated underneath

Somebody was in charge of keeping this feel-good movie from crossing over the line into so-sweet-it-makes-your-fillings-ache. It's a dark situation laced with beams of light and proving what comedians know: we want to laugh at adversity--and the more adverse, the harder we want to laugh. Here, we get to tear up, too. Although it's a movie with no villains, it gets you in a bear hug that won't let go.

sad, funny, great acting. a definite oscar contender for the best foreign film and oscar nominations for the two main characters. just loved it. i did notice that the audience was mostly middle aged and older tho' i think young adults could gain some insight into the challenges that some people face in life.

This movie was great! It was heart warming, funny, and touching, I think the critics reviews are way way off, they must have watched a different movie? A human story with no special effects or booming audio, it is dubbed but you get lost in the story so you don't notice that! A must see if you like a pure movie and story!

Went to see this with my husband on one of our rare nights out without children. What a great movie, Yes it is a feel good movie, but more than that is is enjoyable, not the route junk that is all over the papers, we had to search this out. Our oldest son had seen it in school and told us to go. We loved it, it was worth the money which is not something I say for other movies, I have decided to call it a coma, not a dramady, because it was a little more funny than drama, but it was so good.
