The quick comparisons would be to fine movies like Driving Miss Daisy and Finding Forrester. Like them, it puts together two very different people and lets them discover how much more enriching, in the best sense of that word, each of their lives can be from the relationship that develops. This is "based on a true story", and while it undoubtedly has been embellished for the big screen, the performances ring true and the storyline captures your interest from start to end. Since this is a French movie with English subtitles, it probably won't last long in the theaters, but whether on the big screen or as a rental, this is definitely worth a look.

sad, funny, great acting. a definite oscar contender for the best foreign film and oscar nominations for the two main characters. just loved it. i did notice that the audience was mostly middle aged and older tho' i think young adults could gain some insight into the challenges that some people face in life.

Leave it to France to make the first film I've seen all year that it truly incredible and necessary to see. It is touching but in a way that isn't cheesy or contrived and funny in the same unique way. I loved it.

Thought this would be just another sappy movie about some poor guy in a wheelchair, but thankfully the French got it right. The acting was amazing, it was wonderfully funny and positive. I've seen it twice. Go see it.

This movie is definitely a "must go"! The film could have been maudlin, but instead is very funny and uplifting. I sat through it with a ridiculous smile on my face and that was when I wasn't laughing out loud!
