I loved this movie. The acting was so real and at times brought me to tears. This movie depicts the summer of a kid in the projects in NYC. You will go into his life and meet the different characters that surround him daily. This is a really touching movie. I recommend it to anyone.

The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete

The movie is about two young boys on their own for a summer in the NY projects after drug-addicted mothers get arrested. It's a unique story line probably ringing with more truth than most of us would like to think. The main characters did a fabulous job and Jennifer Hudson was more than believable. Probably won't be in theaters for long but look for it on video. Screenplay written by our local Minneapolis Michael Starrbury. We really enjoyed the movie!

Best Film of the Year

I've now seen it twice (once at Sundance, and once in theaters). Movie has changed enough that I think the old reviews on Fandango are outdated and from the earlier cut. This film packs a punch. A must-see.

This movie was really well written and very well played. The two boys did an amazing job of holding this film together on their own. It was also a wonderful new role for Jennifer Hudson, she was very believable. Definitely worth seeing.

I liked the film, the acting was good. It was a story told from an intercity perspective. Very relatable characters. This film did not have a lot of hype but it was really worth checking out.
