Best Movie this Year- Go See Especially if You Love Magic!

The movie was so much better than reviews I'd been seeing. It is very funny and a touching story at the end. it tries to capture the wonder and lure of magic. I would have liked to have seen more of Jim Carrey but his later arrival in the movie made more sense as it made it Wonderstone who was the main character. I don't want to give any spoilers but it does a very good job of pitting Carrey's magic style (forgot character's name) against Wonderstone's. I must not have paid too much attention to previews because I missed that Wonderstone had a partner (actor to left in photo whose name I forget but was excellent). I really enjoy magic movies, such as the Prestige and the Illusionist. It was great to have a comedy out there to add to them. The only thing I didn't like was Olivia Wilde's character...I agree they needed someone as the moral compass....but her character was a little too far fetched and not funny. It may have been better if that character had some antics.

Has its moments, but could be better

Although the critics aren't wild about this movie, I was looking forward to seeing a comedy with Steve Carrell, Steve Buscemi, and Jim Carrey. The critics are right. The movie has its spots of humor, but not often enough. Buscemi is out of character as the caring, sensitive half of a magical act with Carrell. I wanted to see the crazy Buscemi. Jim Carrey is the star of the movie IMO. His crazed portrayal of "mind freak" magicians is very funny. It's the old Jim Carrey which I enjoyed so much in Ace Ventura movies. This movie is worth seeing when it comes out on cable in a few months, but not worth a trip to the cinema to see it.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone

This was funny in spots, but overall, I felt it was below standard. Certainly not for children....the magician that was sticking stuff into himself was downright offensive and disgusting. The actors tried their best, but the material was poor and nothing could be down to improve the storyline. I wouldn't recommend this film to others. Only those who enjoy such films as The Hangover, would enjoy it.

The worst ever

What a waste of good talent, great actors looking ridiculous in costumes and a weak story line. The only enjoyable parts were the beginning 5 minutes and Alan Arkins scenes
