Burt Wonderstone

This movie was sooo boring. At times it felt like the lead actors filmed their scenes on different days....ok, this is what's happening...now, react...except they didn't react. The 'hot box' scene could have been very funny, but wasn't. I found myself laughing just because it felt weird not laughing at a comedy. I have to admit I laughed my ***off at one point...at the very end, I mean seconds before the credits, when they showed how they pulled off the "grand illusion". I was so looking forward to seeing this movie too. The only thing enjoyable, for me, was Olivia Wilde. The comedic talent was just wasted on this movie. Such a shame too.

Argggghhh...Intensely Un-Magical.

This film had promise. With a serious A-list cast, an obviously excessive production budget and the promise of magic in the city of trash glamour, they really should have done better, much better. Parts of this film are about as unfunny as film comedy gets without flying produce directed at the screen. The fact is, it seems like the cast got together for two days for the shoot and were reading it for the first time. It's a bad movie but not a terrible one. You'd probably want to wait for the DVD or stream because it's not worth the price of a matinee ticket. Skip this one. You'll be glad you did.

Hi everybody! I am Julian and today I will talk about The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. If you are at all a fan of Steve Carell, Jim Carrey or Steve Buscemi, it's an OK movie. It has it's moments and when these moments are on, you're sure to laugh! But sadly, there aren't enough of these moments to make you "Laugh out loud through the whole flick." But the actor that really got my smile was Steve Buscemi. He was just too funny and he proves in this movie he doesn't have to talk to make you laugh. Did I like it? Yes! Was it hilarious? Mostly! I give Wonderstone a good 'ole 4 stars/5 stars

Advantageous Rivalry

“The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” movie centers around a plot involving the magician characters of Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carrell), Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi), Jane (Olivia Wilde), and Steve Gray (Jim Carey). Steve Carrell and Steve Buscemi give off the wall but convincing performances as magicians who also happen to be both business partners and best friends. Olivia Wilde also gives a natural performance as a woman working for Burt Wonderstone and Anton Marvelton.Jim Carey shrewdly plays an eccentric magician that serves both a humorous and unconventional role in giving great competition to Burt Wonderstone. Carey’s Gray character also helps to eventually bring out the best in Burt Wonderstone on a professional level. It is just entertainment, but I believe that the competition and enemies part also applies in real-life. When seen in a positive light, enemies and competition can bring out the brilliance in a person via professional, spiritual, and/or emotional levels.
