This movie was distasteful and hard to watch. A lot of gruesome tricks that aren't related to magic in any way. Just bad. I want my money back.

This movie was exactly what I expected - sweet, silly, and worth a few hours on a Saturday afternoon when it was freezing outside. I like stories about people that get selfish, get humbled, and get back on their feet. It's something I can identify with and a theme that we all need reminding of once in awhile. I also liked the idea of reconnecting with the thing that caused you to be passionate about whatever it is that you were once passionate about. Again, something we all need reminding of. The main characters fall out and rediscover their friendship again defeating the bad guy and discover that teams are stronger than individuals. That's a positive message in an America filled with soulless individualism and materialism. If you've got time to kill and need a laugh, then go see this movie. If you don't, then wait for it online, you won't kick yourself.

Withour Alan Arkin, this movie would have been a bust. Jim Carrey was absolutely pitiful and sado-masochistic in his role...nothing funny there. Steve Carell was amusing as well as Buscemi, but the movie grew tiresome, although there were a few genuine moments of pleasure when Carell was entertaining young children at a birthday party, and the opening sequence was promising...Overall, I give the movie **1/2 stars only because of Arkin and his comedic presence and lifting up a dreary script.

All I can say is that I can't remember the last time I constantly laughed out loud through an entire movie. This movie was incredibly funny at the same time it was touching and actually had a moral...And how can you not love a movie that has Steve Carell, jim Carey, Steve Buscemi, Olivia Wilde and Alan Arkin!?!?!Totally engaging from beginning to end!!

I love Steve Buscemi. I adore Steve Carrell. I really like Olivia Wilde & Jim Carey. I loathed this movie. If The Incredible Burt Wonderstone was a burger, it would have been inedible. I would have gotten food poisoning & could have vomited the rancid meal. Unfortunately, I cannot purge the hour and a half of crap from my memory. I almost fell asleep. I wasted a good Sunday night and a good $35. My only solace is that one of you will read this and heed my humble review. Stay away, dear reader. If you like a good story line, sharp writing, or a funny comedy, do not see this movie. And if you must, because you're an 18 year old boy, please wait until you can rent it from netflix or red box. It is definitely not worth more than $1. Why didn't I walk out? Because the first 5 minutes was good. And i was hoping, wishing, & praying it would improve. Alas, it did not.
