“The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” movie centers around a plot involving the magician characters of Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carrell), Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi), Jane (Olivia Wilde), and Steve Gray (Jim Carey). Steve Carrell and Steve Buscemi give off the wall but convincing performances as magicians who also happen to be both business partners and best friends. Olivia Wilde also gives a natural performance as a woman working for Burt Wonderstone and Anton Marvelton.Jim Carey shrewdly plays an eccentric magician that serves both a humorous and unconventional role in giving great competition to Burt Wonderstone. Carey’s Gray character also helps to eventually bring out the best in Burt Wonderstone on a professional level. It is just entertainment, but I believe that the competition and enemies part also applies in real-life. When seen in a positive light, enemies and competition can bring out the brilliance in a person via professional, spiritual, and/or emotional levels.

I like Steve Carell in general so was really looking forward to this fim. As it began I kept waiting for the funny parts to happen. I waited and waited. I even waited some more. There were a couple parts that got a chuckle but, overall, it was a dud. The writing was poor. There just seemed to be very little for him to be funny about. There were a few teenage girls that laughed a few times in the theater but I think they were laughing about something else. Swing and a miss.

Really funny movie with a great cast. Could've been done better but I would absolutely recommend this.

We had high hopes and they were not met---be forewarned, the preview trailers show almost all the best parts of the movie, except for the last 10 minutes. Jim Carrey's character is atrocious and not at all funny. The teenagers in front of us seemed to really enjoy Carrey's ridiculous stunts, when they weren't mauling each other. Olivia Wilde is quite likable. What happened to Gandolfini---still channeling Tony Soprano, but just going through the motions?
You're not missing anything. If you feel the need to see it, wait for it to be on video--that will happen very quickly, as it's not going to be in the theaters for long, nor will it be one that gets any repeat viewers.

I am clueless how anyone has given this movie an even remotely decent review. Clearly those people either saw a different movie or they were on drugs when watching it. This was hands down the WORST WORST WORST film I have ever seen. Not a single scene was funny. It was incredibly stupid. Horrible script. I kept contemplating walking out of the move the entire time but didn't have to pay to see it kept hoping that maybe it would get better from how horrible it already was. Sad to see the usually funny Jim carrey in such a horrible movie that does him no good at all. Cause it WASNT funny!! Even if you don't have to pay to see it like me, DONT SEE IT! biggest waste of time I ever spent.
