Magic is funny

If you've thought about seeing this movie, go see it. It's not going to knock your socks off, but if you thought it looked funny, you'll probably enjoy it like I did. It took me back to my days of performing out of a magic kit as a child and my dreams of being a magician. What's great about this movie is that it doesn't try to be something it's not. It's there for entertainment and to make you smile. You'll laugh, you'll appreciate your friends, you'll question what magic really is and what it's for, and why we're obsessed with the ridiculous (and sometimes grotesque) stunts we call "illusion" today. The cast is great, the acting is fun, and the underlying message about friendship being more important than fame and popularity is heartwarming in it's own goofy way. If you're on the fence, maybe wait and rent it. If you're looking for a good time and thought the previews were funny, it will make you smile and send you home appreciating those you love.

Hit and miss comedy, pulls at the right parts and wrong parts of humor

With an excellent cast, I went in with high expectations and left with a mixed bag of sentiments. Overall, the movie is OK, not the best but not the worst. The story setting and characters pull upon every segment of magicians and show business by executing parodies of some of the most popular magic acts of our times. From Siegfried and Roy, David Copperfield, Cris Angel, and David Blain. However where it misses for me, though I admit I found some moments funny, is the bit of awkwardness, jokes that came off a bit more tasteless than funny, and the absurd moments were more disturbing than absurd, though some moments do have their moments. The story's plot carries the movie and the plot twists are good as the character conflicts quickly wrap the story up in a redeemable manner.

Steve Buscemi was a dud as Wonderstons partner.Thank god they had Jim Carry and James Gandoifini to save the movie. The theater was quite thru most of the movie but did have its moments.

All I can say is that I can't remember the last time I constantly laughed out loud through an entire movie. This movie was incredibly funny at the same time it was touching and actually had a moral...And how can you not love a movie that has Steve Carell, jim Carey, Steve Buscemi, Olivia Wilde and Alan Arkin!?!?!Totally engaging from beginning to end!!
