This is a movie that most people haven't heard of & a movie that may not get to everyone. However, if you get the chance to see it GO!Take the tissues with you. It's the TRUE story of a family that vacationed in Thailand & got caught in the Tsunami. Spolier Alert - the story is the graphic struggle of the family that has been torn apart & their struggle to get help for their injuries & to find each other. The cinematography of the tsunami hitting the resort & the carnage afterward is brutal. The acting is incredible as is shows how far the human spirit is capable of clinging to hope & to life. The smallest kindnesses between strangers who have all lost everything & who don't speak the same language, but recognize the need to reach out in kindness to help preserve the dignity we all deserve is amazing. In a season where so many good movies have shown us what means to be human, what the value is in choosing peace and dignity, I can only hope & pray that we as a people can learn to be kind.

went with 4 teenagers thought the movie was intense and at times more gory then expected but all around loved it and over 2 hours flew by, bring your tissues even if you are a guy.

I just saw The Impossible. What an incredible true story. Can't imagine experiencing anything like this. The acting is superb. I was really impressed with the young actor who plays the oldest son. Take your hankie with you, it's worth it.

Not a dull moment in this movie. Guaranteed "Weeper" film but all worth it at the end. Treat yourself and your loved ones to this truly amazing true story.

This movie really makes you think about what the important things in life are. If you're in the mood for a tear-jerker then this is the movie to see. When you are watching it you need to remember it's based on a true story and that makes it even more dramatic. I would recommend this for anyone. There were two grown men sitting next to me when I went and they were just as stunned as I during the entire film and sat in silence as the credits rolled. A must see in my book.
