    Sad but great true story.

Sad movie but worth seeing. This family had a happy ending to such a tragic event.

    Sad but wonderful

The acting of this movie is AWESOME! (Except the 2 seconds that Chinese nurse ruined) but seriously you will feel every emotion during this movie I felt like I needed to get up go to Asia and help! It was so sad and honestly I probably will never watch it again because it was to emotional but it was good and realistic!

Naomi Watts may have the nomination, but this is Tom Holland's movie

The Impossible is about the 2004 tsunami and one family's struggle to survive and reunite. Naomi Watts has a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her portrayal of the mother, but it is16-year-old Tom Holland who matches her in every scene they share. He should have a Best Supporting Actor nod. The first half of the film revolves around these two, while Ewan McGregor's father and his two younger sons take up most of the second half. It's in this second half that the film seems to lose focus, and this second half is a bit weaker than the first.

Still, it's a film worth seeing. Keep in mind, this is about the greatest natural disaster in modern times, so it's no date-night movie. Oh, and bring plenty of hankies. I give it ****.

    Unbelievably Compelling Movie

This is the first movie I ever remember being disappointed about it not getting nominated for an academy award. It's so worthy a movie to see. Just to witness how horrendously life can abruptly shift & challenge us & the fortitude it takes to survive & thrive amidst such devastation. It's just such a human & deeply dramatic story. Sort of a cautionary tale too; there but for the grace of God go I.
