It's okay

I had high expectations and even though Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts made a great screen couple the movie plays with the line of boredom and emotionality that makes the amazing scenes leave from your liking.

The Impossible

Tragic story- but important depiction of what a family experienced. Naomi's performance is amazing. Direction/screenplay & the reenactment of the tsunami is terrifying to watch, but the best of all that has been produced. Ewan McGregor never fails to bring his best and the kids in this movie are completely amazing little actors. This movie is exhausting to watch, but should not be missed. This is one film that you should see in the theatre! Don't wait for it to be release to DVD/Cable. The special effects are amazing. I can't imagine how difficult it was to film. I hope that Naomi and the young cast receive special recognition for their hard work to shoot this film.

A Testament to the Human Spirit

Just got back from seeing The Impossible - an excellent movie. The acting in it is fantastic especially the boy who plays Lucas. I could have used an entire box of Kleenex; the emotional tribute to the human spirit is deeply moving. The musical score definitely enhances this. Several people who attended the same showing were as blown away as I was. All we could do was sit there watching the credits roll as we tried to return to everyday life. Three thumbs up!

Thought provoker. Every parent should see this movie, but not for the faint of heart.

If you want a movie that will cause you to reflect on your priorities in life and to want to embrace your family and never let go, then this is the film for you. I have never cried so hard in a movie before, actually wailing out loud, almost uncontrollably. While the movie was difficult to watch, the tears came from a place of love and gratitude and compassion that caused me to feel fully human and alive, touching me to the core, especially as a mother, and it felt wonderful to realize how deep the ties that bind us can be, as a domestic family, and as a human family. I must admit I had to turn my head 2 or 3 times at the more disturbing or graphic scenes, but there was enough warning that they were coming that I was able to close my eyes before I saw too much. I think the movie, while focusing on the hope of this particular family, also fairly represented the destruction and life-shattering affects on the citizens of Thailand, & opened my eyes to the needs of the rest of the world.

Bring kleenex!

Great acting by both MacGregor, Watts and the children. The one thing that I could have done without? Seeing just about the entire movie in the trailer. I knew the storyline from beginning to end from watching the trailer. Don't do that!
