I found this film most entertaining, did not lose interest in the story at all. Like in the first film I found all the characters very unique and well thought out. The combination of both director and lead actress made for a thrilling view of this interpretation of a not so utopian future. I give this film 5 "booyahs" out of 5.

If you are squeamish about trauma from a movie then stay home. If your willing to take a chance at getting lost and vulnerable by a story take it in. Great performances by the entire cast. I couldn't hope notice the similarity between the games theme music to Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon Saturday morning.

Saw the movie at a private screening on Wednesday and there's no doubt about you should go. The actions sequences are excellent and you are engrossed all the way through the movie. It is so good. Don't hesitate - GO !!!

Faithful cinematically beautiful faithful rendition of book..
Superb Cast. Jennifer Connelly has put in another terrific performance. Through her you feel Katniss's pain. It is the supporting cast which plays off her sensitivity which makes this movie so powerful , especially Southerland-the Facist Presidejnt, Harrelson-Katniss's drunken derelict supporter, Hoffman-the diabolical Gamekeper, and Tucci as the always joyous Master of Ceremonys. Only Josh Hutcherson's wooden portrayal of Peeta left something to be desired.
The first movie, didn't convey the horror and fear generated both by the shooting of the cannon announcing the death of each player, and the nightly ritual of showing all those who had been killed. This is rectified in "Catching Fire"
The Introductionn of the contestants in the Capital is reminiscent of Hitlers rallies in Nurenburg and the enticing power and horror of dictatorships.
Would recommend this movie to all but the very young.

Not nearly as good as the first one. Could have and should have been so much more. I was dismayed by the lack of character development. Consequently, there was no emotional buy-in as characters were killed off right and left. Not a terrible movie, but I was sorry I paid to see it in the theater.
