Better than the first

I loved this movie. I would have to give it 5 out of 5 stars which I rarely ever do. I would agree with other reviews in that it did not seem any where close to an over 2 hour 26 min. movie. Didn't even feel like 2 hours. Highly recommend this movie. I have not read the books so I don't know how the film compared to the book.

Probably the best book-to-movie adaptation I've ever seen!

Catching Fire was amazing, beautiful, powerful! The entire plot of the book was seamlessly captured in such a way that it could easily stand on its own. The actors, the script, and the visuals worked in perfect harmony to create lasting moments. Every scene was quick, important, and emotional. The plot moved at the perfect rate and didn't waste time on long, dramatic transitions. It was perfect. Every movie based on a book could use a lesson from Catching Fire.

Wow, I could not even think they would be able to capture this story so well. Better than the first one. The audience applauded and cheered, made me want to re-read the trilogy again.

I'm not the biggest Hunger Games fan but I have enjoyed watching the movies. Catching Fire seemed to go by very quickly. At parts it seemed rushed, but I suppose that was necessary to prevent it from being 4+ hours long. I'm told that it stays pretty true to the book and the hardcore fan should love it and the causal fan should definitely enjoy it.

The Hunger Games Catching Fire

The acting is phenomenal. Especially Catness ?sp. You can really feel her disdain for what she has done and is about to do, even to save her and her family's life. The total absurdity of what is happening to this generation leaves you feeling totally helpless. Even the supporters of the victors showed true emotion about what was happening to the young warriors. It is kind of disheartening that the next generation of very young people are seeing some kind of honor in what is going on and cannot wait for their turn to serve. The storyline wasn't without it's gruesome scenes that just make you cringe, but I was relieved that they did not have to resort to blatant sex to sell this and the previous movie. Kudos to Hollywood. Great casting and visuals. Must see. Looking forward to the next sequel.
