If you are squeamish about trauma from a movie then stay home. If your willing to take a chance at getting lost and vulnerable by a story take it in. Great performances by the entire cast. I couldn't hope notice the similarity between the games theme music to Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon Saturday morning.

I found this film most entertaining, did not lose interest in the story at all. Like in the first film I found all the characters very unique and well thought out. The combination of both director and lead actress made for a thrilling view of this interpretation of a not so utopian future. I give this film 5 "booyahs" out of 5.

The movie was absolutely horrible. I expected so much more. I couldn't believe how much time was spent leading up to the actual games....then it was over as quick as it began.
I couldn't wait for this movie and I am sooooo disappointed.

If you're a fan of the books, or if you liked the first movie, you're obviously going to go watch this movie, if you haven't already. But let me tell you, as much as the books were an emotional roller coaster ride, they don't quite compare to when you're watching it all happen on the big screen.
This movie is pretty epic in its own right, but not as much as the first one. Instead, it focuses more on setting the stage for the real battle. It has a lot of action towards the end, but you'll have to wait through about an hour or so of pure character-driven story; which isn't a bad thing. The actors really bring their A-Game to this movie, especially Jennifer Lawrence. And the special effects really made the world in this movie pop.
Personally, I feel this movie was a bit dark and depressing for the kids, or the kids at heart. But then, it is a part of the series, so I guess the little ones will have to sit through it if they want to find out what happens at the end.

As so often occurs when a movie is adapted from a popular book, there was something missing from the final theatre version: scenes, plot development, context, character development to name a few. I hope part three is more complete.
