This Korean horror flick is as funny as it is scary, and half the fun is not knowing whether you should be laughing or not. When the family falls on the floor crying and weeping over the loss of their little one, it seems overdone and intentionally so. But maybe they do that in Korean, you think, until you see the Korean-looking guy down the aisle cracking up, too. Anyway, the special effects are good, the plotline and dysfunctional family dynamics are intelligent and even moving, and the political undertones--especially vis-a-vis abuses by the U.S. and Korean governments--are pointed. And it's fun just to see how Koreans live and make horror flicks. Enjoy.
