I read the book quite a few years ago, so I have forgotten most of the nitty gritty details of the book. That being said, I really loved this movie. The main actress did a phenomenal job of playing 2 different personailities occupying her body. It was easy to see Wanda's development of her attraction to the human way of life. You should go see it. It was entertaining and action packed. Well done.

I liked this movie. I had a little bit of an idea about what it was gonna be about or like before i went to see it. I thought things started slow and kinda dragged along for the first little bit. Once I feel it picked up & I could see things coming tougher it became fun to watch.
Not a scary alien movie, not a crazy action movie, just a good story movie that kinda go's along. I liked the acting and how everything was kinda matrix like and calm except a few parts. Seeing Saoirse Ronan in a lead role other than Hanna. Cant wait to see her in more movies.
I liked the score, the settings, the vibe, the feeling, the message, & the coolness of the movie. I recommend it but, it's not gonna be for everyone. I hope you who see it enjoy it like i did.

I thought I would give this movie a whirl because it became available for download so I thought free aside from the bandwidth cost why not. I didn't want to see it as soon as I saw it was from the producers of Twilight. I should have went with my first instinct it was horrible Twilight first fucked up the vampire image so now they're taking a shot at another genre which they equally ^^^^ over. Right from the start it has a Twilight feel and a super annoying lead girl that fills you in with the goings on. From here it gets worse and worse until you feel you are watching a documentary on cheese. Just like Twilight taking everything masculine, beautiful yet horrific away from vampires it strips everything of value from the invasion genre. forget scifi, horror, action , or adventure when you are explaining the genre its a teen romance movie all the way the level of intimacy and romantic content are not even mature enough to appeal to adults as a romance. Sickeningly bad.

No loudly bracket of machinegun bullets firing. No massive artillery barrages to harbor "Shock and Awe" to the enemy. No they sneak in and take your bodies over. The planet well ....it is not as loud as it was.
If you want a movie where the plot twists have young love on the various rocks, aliens inhabiting and using your body. It turns out that humans are a decided problem. This is a movie worth the cost.

This was a movie I enjoyed, one that told the story of The Host very creditably. I was impressed by the cast, particularly William Hurt, Frances Fisher and Saoirse Ronan. I loved the sets, especially their cave dwelling/hideout. I felt very satisfied with the movie...felt it was well edited, moved right along and did the story justice. I think people who read the book will enjoy the movie more than those who don't.
