An enjoyable afternoon

I read the book, loved it and couldn't wait to see the movie. I enjoyed the movie and left the theater feeling refreshed instead of traumatized. If you like movies full of destruction, violence and explosions, this movie is not for you. It is more of an intellectual thriller with a little humor woven in. My tween grandchild also gave it a huge thumbs up.

Close to the book, good movie

By particular

First of all, if you haven't read the book then you are probably going to see the movie because it based on a book by Stephanie Meyer, who also wrote the Twilight series...do not expect a story similar to Twilight. Even book readers had a hard time switching gears into something other than Twilight. This movie is more Sci-Fi, but still has the drama and love story. If you are a reader, this is a good read - you just have to not compare it to Twilight and have imagination. Admittedly, I do wonder if someone who hasn't read the book will fully understand the movie. If you have read the book, you will find that (like most movies made from books) they left some things out. There were some things that I wish they had put in (not going to spoil by giving examples). However, the movie is still good and well cast. The graphics and set designs are really good. Bottom line, I say GO!

Twilight with alien invasion

I thought I would give this movie a whirl because it became available for download so I thought free aside from the bandwidth cost why not. I didn't want to see it as soon as I saw it was from the producers of Twilight. I should have went with my first instinct it was horrible Twilight first fucked up the vampire image so now they're taking a shot at another genre which they equally ***&^ over. Right from the start it has a Twilight feel and a super annoying lead girl that fills you in with the goings on. From here it gets worse and worse until you feel you are watching a documentary on cheese. Just like Twilight taking everything masculine, beautiful yet horrific away from vampires it strips everything of value from the invasion genre. forget scifi, horror, action , or adventure when you are explaining the genre its a teen romance movie all the way the level of intimacy and romantic content are not even mature enough to appeal to adults as a romance. Sickeningly bad.

I really enjoyed seeing this movie! It was exciting and funny how this creature was trying to understand the human's life. Very interesting home the humans created for themselves to hide from the creatures. I am glad the movie ended with a happy ending for everyone!!! Stephanie Myers did a great job creating the story to this movie. The desert scenery was beautiful. Not a movie for under 12 because of the romance and the conflict between the two species. A must see for those who love action with a twist of romance and for the possibilities of another unknown species coexisiting with humans.

I personally liked this a lot

I liked this movie. I had a little bit of an idea about what it was gonna be about or like before i went to see it. I thought things started slow and kinda dragged along for the first little bit. Once I feel it picked up & I could see things coming tougher it became fun to watch. Not a scary alien movie, not a crazy action movie, just a good story movie that kinda go's along. I liked the acting and how everything was kinda matrix like and calm except a few parts. Seeing Saoirse Ronan in a lead role other than Hanna. Cant wait to see her in more movies. I liked the score, the settings, the vibe, the feeling, the message, & the coolness of the movie. I recommend it but, it's not gonna be for everyone. I hope you who see it enjoy it like i did.
