I really enjoyed seeing this movie! It was exciting and funny how this creature was trying to understand the human's life. Very interesting home the humans created for themselves to hide from the creatures. I am glad the movie ended with a happy ending for everyone!!!
Stephanie Myers did a great job creating the story to this movie. The desert scenery was beautiful. Not a movie for under 12 because of the romance and the conflict between the two species. A must see for those who love action with a twist of romance and for the possibilities of another unknown species coexisiting with humans.

Yikes...what a BIG disappointment! Things that were changed from the book were not the right things. Cheezy, Sketchy and appears to be very low budget. Very disappointed in the new body Wanda got..."really"? Thumbs down.

Where as the movie "In Time" succeeds in its clever use of language & banter between characters, The Host fails. I was so hoping this movie was going to be great. Instead I got a bit of excitement, heartfelt romance & intrigue, & a bit of annoyance by the film's attempt to be cute & funny at times. Inconsistent in it efforts at believable rapport between characters as they were put into "role play" I did enjoy the internal conflict between Wanda & Meg. Saoirse Ronan captured the role in a delicate & touching manner. The human element was presented in a believable way. I think the film was made more for the Hunger Games generation. I could have done without a lot of the "inner voice" at times, as emotions & concerns were obvious during certain scenes The inner voice could have been toned down a bit, was actually comical at times when the Film was obviously trying to be serious & somber. I really wish they had spent a little more effort & time giving The Host a little more substance. C

I think the film is a great idea. I saw it twice because of my daughter. I am happy to see that people can accept the separation between a body and a soul. Because of the truth in the story I'm on the side of storytellers and to heck with the critics. A critic can not make a movie–but an artist can and will influence a culture.
Go see it. WP

I read the book and was very excited to see the film. The book does not translate to the screen. It winds up being corney and many times I thought about walking out. Just skip it.
