Was an alright movie, but best seen at matinee price or DVD.

The movie was a decent adaptation of the book and did make me tear up at a few points, but just didn't feel fully fleshed out and realized. The actors were great, but the movie overall left we somewhat wanting for a more fleshed out and complete plot.

This movie sucked!! Point Blank Period!! Was so long and boring and the romance was so cheesy it smelled. I was excited about the film because Stephanie Meyer writes great things. But this...The movie...I almost walked out and wanted my money back. Wouldn't recommend or see again. I don't know if it was the acting the plot.. No wait it was everything.. Sorry guys you tried.

I read the book and was very excited to see the film. The book does not translate to the screen. It winds up being corney and many times I thought about walking out. Just skip it.

Go see for yourself

I think the film is a great idea. I saw it twice because of my daughter. I am happy to see that people can accept the separation between a body and a soul. Because of the truth in the story I'm on the side of storytellers and to heck with the critics. A critic can not make a movie–but an artist can and will influence a culture. Go see it. WP

The Host is terrible

This is one of the worst movies I have seen in years. There are terrible messages to teens: you kiss me, no you kiss me, now both of your kiss me; look at the sperm-things coming out of my neck. Stephanie Meyer wrote this as an adult novel, and I assume that the morons in Hollywood wanted to soak the youth market, so they turned the film into drivel. The pace is painful, there is no real action, and the deep Mormon roots of the author come through as they did in the Twilight movies and books. I would like to have my money back.
