I liked the Host a lot. The cast was picked out very nicely. I would say that it is for adults and kids. It really kept to the book. Better then Twilight.

I was really rooting for this movie as I really enjoyed the book. I was hoping the author would write more because the book was left open ended. I really hope this movie does not squash that - I think it might sadly. I went with a friend who had not read the book yet so it was interesting to get her take and she enjoyed the movie. There were pockets of teens that would squeal with laughter in some points and I found myself unfortunately chuckling at moments that there shouldn't be a chuckle. There were some enjoyable relationships that understandably had to be removed from the book's story line to adapt it to the movie but I was disappointed that the relationship between Wanda & Ian was not believable. There were quite a few leaps that were in the movie that were not very believable, especially for those who did not read the book. I did like the last 40 mins of the movie though and do hope SM will write another in this series. Sadly, this movie won't be around long.

Since I am not a lover of all things Twilight and I am getting exhausted with Juvenile Fiction, I was lukewarm on this book. The movie was really quite good, though! There aren't a lot of great movies out there right now but I sincerely think was one of the better movies of the year.

if your going in expecting an alien action movie forget it. I did not read the book but to me it seems like it would've been a good book just not transitioned to a good movie. The movie was OK. My girlfriend seemed to like it so if your going with a date it will be a good choice. It felt really long and some parts could have been edited out. It did have some really good scenes. If you could go to a matinee to buy cheaper tickets I would say see it.

I read the book, loved it and couldn't wait to see the movie. I enjoyed the movie and left the theater feeling refreshed instead of traumatized. If you like movies full of destruction, violence and explosions, this movie is not for you. It is more of an intellectual thriller with a little humor woven in. My tween grandchild also gave it a huge thumbs up.
