A Host of Teenage Romance

I took a gaggle of giggle tweens to the premiere last night. That seems to be the demographic. The film itself is "meh" as a work of art. The scifi effects were surprisingly unimaginative. There was really no climax to the film, just lots of love triangle dabbling. I did not read the book, although my daughter loved it. It is a pretty innocent film, although the previews that played before it were, in some cases, terrifying! Thanks, Hollywood, for another try. This time it probably meets the mark for the maturing Beiber set. Only.

If i hadnt read the book id have walked out

There were so many bits missing, so many story lines cut out, so many things changed it wasn't close to its book, I know the writer did twilight too but this was clearly either a vehicle for its star or just trying to make money on the back of twilight, it failed at both. It was so poorly acted the actors couldn't have mad it on daytime TV shows, it was a real shame. I rushed the book to get the best out of the movie and I wish I hadn't..i could have walked out and not cared if it got better but I stayed till the end of this sleep fest example of what not to do in a movie I didn't care if Melanie ever came back out and as for jared and ian, only a mentally deranged girl would fall for either, they had no decernable character worth falling for, I expected the normal sorry to say chick flick of twilight but I got something youd wish someone had sunk their teeth into your neck and not brought you back...the book was good, the movie was sadly lacking in eve

See the Movie First

The problem with most movies adapted from books is that the movie can't possible include as much detail as the book. Therefore, those who read the book first are always sorely disappointed come movie time. I didn't read the book first, so I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. This story doesn't provide any explanations about how the aliens got here or how they managed to take over the earth. It also doesn't explain why some humans could survive implantation and others couldn't. But, it does do an excellent job of presenting another take on the idea of being "of two minds." And it places both familial love and romantic love on high pedestals. The actors are fun to watch, do a good job with their parts and are very likable. The story is well paced, humorous at times and makes sense! This is a feel good movie that also has plenty of action. There was only one part that made no sense at all to me, because the actions of the characters were guaranteed to lead to the result which occurred.

No words.

I have no words for how horrifically bad this movie was. It had absolutely nothing to do with the book, the acting was terrible, the plot was out of order, and there were vital scenes missing. There were only two good scenes I can remember that were just like the book: the dead soul/ Wanda screaming scene and the "MONTHS LATER" epilogue. Don't waste your time. If you do, at least you'll get a good laugh.

A smart movie but a good intense one with twists

No loudly bracket of machinegun bullets firing. No massive artillery barrages to harbor "Shock and Awe" to the enemy. No they sneak in and take your bodies over. The planet well ....it is not as loud as it was. If you want a movie where the plot twists have young love on the various rocks, aliens inhabiting and using your body. It turns out that humans are a decided problem. This is a movie worth the cost.
