We really enjoyed this movie. It was not what we were expecting so we were completely surprise out how the movie played out. Thought it would be more outragious but turned out to be well played and a thought out. Would highly recommend to go and see it.

It seemed like they were in too much of a hurry to get through the story. The acting was only so so. The script wasn't very good. I really liked the last trailer they made, but it set me up for disappointment in the end. Mostly it was PG except for one scene which I think should not have made it into the movie. It was not in the book either anyway. Disney probably could have made two or three good movies from the book.
Loved the book. Movie was okay, I guess.
Critic Reviews were not very helpful either. Just a lot of derogatory nonsense.

I liked the Host a lot. The cast was picked out very nicely. I would say that it is for adults and kids. It really kept to the book. Better then Twilight.

Since I am not a lover of all things Twilight and I am getting exhausted with Juvenile Fiction, I was lukewarm on this book. The movie was really quite good, though! There aren't a lot of great movies out there right now but I sincerely think was one of the better movies of the year.

The parasite watches a man die a horrible death from cancer in the book rather than acknowledge that she can easily steal the cure: totally removed from movie
The parasite watches her kind and their human hosts die rather than show how to safely remove parasites from humans: vaguely hinted at in the movie, no development of the moral issue.
Big part why is a commercial success is setting up an ethical way for a middle aged man to have an underaged girlfriend.
