Enjoyed the movie. Excited to see some returning characters especially Gandalf. Acting was great. Was surprised by some of the humorous additions but feel it didn't take away too much from the film. Definitely recommend for others to see.

The LOTR films were to right, correct tone and feel.
The Hobbit should have been much lighter in feel.
It felt like the Hobbit is just a continuation of LOTR, to the point that it felt like they used the same shots for the film.
To long and to dark for what it should have been.

The previews and trailers didn't give this movie justice. The storytelling was great, even though they mixed around what happened in the book a bit, it was still an amazing movie, a must see.
What are you doing sitting at your computer right now anyways? You should be going to the theatre right now.... What are you doing?! GO!

Very tough to live up to the expectations created by LOTR, especially since The Hobbit was basically a kids book about a jewelry heist. The movie has been padded out and given a bit more depth, and I found it quite enjoyable. It's slow at the beginning, but then so was Fellowship of the Ring. The cameos by LOTR characters and other added scenes worked for me as I never expected the movie to adhere strictly to text of the book. I have to mention a couple of scenes involving sled-bunnies (!). They are appalling if Peter Jackson meant them to be taken seriously, or hilariously brilliant if intended to be comedic, and I'm going with the latter. Finally, a big thumbs up for the performance of Martin Freeman. He nails the difficult role of Bilbo Baggins (homebody to adventurer to hero) and gives the movie a tremendous boost in every scene he is in.

If you're going to see it in 3D, make sure you see it in HFR 3D. If you can't see it in HFR 3D, stick with 2D. There's too much action and incredible landscape shots to see it in 3D at 24 fps.
Also, don't expect The Hobbit to be as epic as The Return of the King. It's much more like The Fellowship of the Ring was for the first hour of it's run time, but it's also very different from The Lord of the Rings trilogy. So try to keep an open mind. Great movie! :D
