It was a wonderful adventure (to the point it stops JUST when it is about to get even MORE exciting), and the 3D did enhance it. I can hardly wait for the next installment.

Must see!!! Love the way they blended the first movie ( fellowship of the ring ) in! I think it made the Hobbit part of the other 3 and not left it out there on its own! Loved it! Will see it again!!!!!!!

Epic and worthy of the book

It is hard to be successful when you attempt to turn a cult classic book into a film particularly when its audience crosses so large an age range, but this first installment of the Hobbit has done an excellent job. It has a feeling of being ever so large as the story and world the book relates. The settings are breathtaking and the visual effects spectacular. The acting is solid in roles that are far from human relatable in some ways, but in others are deep. We caught the premiere and definitely felt the trade-off of sleep for the experience was worth it. We'll be telling others they need to experience it whether they have read the book or not.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 3D

This movie was amazing! Peter Jackson made a big change using so much more CGI, but it was the best decision he could have made, as the 3D effects had everyone on the edge of their seats because of it. I couldn't have asked for a better interpretation, or visual effects. Peter Jackson has raised the bar!
