    horray for Hobbiton

    by dshad5

As most movies of this nature go, there was an issue with adherence to the novel. I say who cares. If you like the book read it again. This movies was awesome. Took my 6 yr old boy and he was reeled in as far as the SFX goes.

I enjoyed the beginning tie in to the lotr. The story line was a stand alone hit for me. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to 3 hours of fun.....or 2.6 hours if you don't care for previews.

There and Not Yet Back Again

After the confusing mayhem of the LOTR movies, director Peter Jackson chose an elegiac pace to stretch one Hobbit book into three movies. Eeellleeegggiiiaaaccc, which means slow but with pretty scenery.

Many times, I thought I did not remember scene; of course, I hadn't come across them any of the three times I read the book. A unexpected treat was casting three metrosexual nobbos against type as trolls. A sage choice indeed.
